Course Overview
When someone experiences cardiac arrest, every second counts. This CPR course equips you with the life-saving skills to act swiftly and effectively, in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines. Learn how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), manage first-aider rotations seamlessly, and handle special situations like regurgitation.

Pre-Course Requirements
Complete an online pre-course workbook and assessment before attending the practical session.
Assessment
As per the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) , participants will be assessed through a practical test. This requires two minutes of uninterrupted CPR performed on the floor. If you have physical limitations, please contact us for alternatives.
Delivery & Duration
Method: Enhanced online learning followed by a 75-minute face-to-face assessment.
Location: ACTWELL’S training facility, Fyshwick
Time: 75 minute for the face-to-face session, plus up to 1.5 hours for the online component.

Certification
Upon successful completion, you'll receive a certificate for the unit HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. For full unit details, visit training.gov.au
Requirements
• Student must be able to kneel and perform two-minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor for accreditation (as per ASQA requirements). If you are unable to do this, regrettably we cannot issue the competency. However, we are able to provide a Certificate of Attendance, which is non-accredited.
• Access to internet-enabled devices for online studies.

PROVIDE FIRST AID INCLUDES HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Participants who successfully complete HLTAID011 will also receive the unit HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
