This course is designed for individuals who are currently in, or aspire to be in, roles requiring advanced occupational first aid skills. Whether you're already employed in a high-risk environment or planning to be, this course is for you.
What Will You Learn?
Guided by the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and compliant with state/territory Work Health and Safety regulations, this course offers hands-on experience in:
Advanced First Aid Techniques: Learn how to provide advanced first aid, oxygen therapy, and advanced resuscitation.
Ongoing Care & Monitoring: Understand how to monitor and care for a casualty post-treatment until emergency services arrive.
Incident Debriefing: Learn how to evaluate incidents to improve future responses and address psychological impacts.
First Aid Action Plans: Develop and maintain action plans and risk assessments to ensure a safe workplace environment.
Equipment Management: Get trained on how to stock and maintain essential equipment, including first aid kits and resuscitation gear.
Pre-Course Requirements
Before attending the practical session, students must complete an online pre-course work and assessment.
Practical Assessment
The course includes a practical assessment requiring two minutes of uninterrupted CPR performed on the floor. If you're unable to perform CPR on the floor, please reach out to our team for alternative arrangements.
How Is the Course Delivered?
The course is conducted at ACTWELL’s state-of-the-art training facility and runs for approximately 8.5 hours of face-to-face training. An online pre-course component must be completed prior to the in-person session.

This course is essential for anyone working with live switchboards or conducting live work. It covers both CPR and rescue procedures from a live Low Voltage (LV) panel, aligning with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
What You'll Learn
CPR techniques for infants and adults

Inspection and placement of rescue equipment
Health, safety, and risk management in live work settings
Pre-requisites
Physical capability for CPR and manual handling in mock rescues
Sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy, and visual interpretation skills
Personal safety equipment (PPE) must be provided by the student

The HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate is valid for 12 months and will require renewal thereafter.
